Ocean Data Explorer

To meet our mission of providing accurate and reliable data for decision making, AOOS has developed the Ocean Data Explorer (ODE) – over 3,000 marine data layers to visualize and access. This portal contains scientific and management information on the biological, chemical and physical characteristics of Alaska and its surrounding waters.

Portal Features:

N
Searchable catalog
N
Data comparison and charting functions
N
Shareable custom data views
N
Advanced charting features, including climatologies and anomalies

AOOS Data Certification and Management

wave
AOOS maintains current Regional Coastal Ocean System (RCOS) certification necessary to coordinate non-federal observing assets and disseminate associated data in the Alaska Region.

More information about AOOS and IOOS data certification

The goal of the AOOS Data Assembly Center (DAC) and Data Management subsystem is to acquire, archive and share marine data and information products to meet the needs of Alaska stakeholders and the national IOOS program. AOOS contracts Axiom Data Science to provide data management with the goal of increasing the accessibility, reuse, and impact of scientific data.
