Taylor Borgfeldt

Taylor Borgfeldt joined AOOS in 2025 and serves as the Data & Products Manager, overseeing the development and maintenance of AOOS data products and leading the Coastal Hazards project portfolio. She is also the lead for the Alaska Water Level Watch (AWLW), managing AOOS’ water level observing activities and working closely with AWLW partners and data product developers to guide the AWLW Data Portal.

Taylor holds a Master’s degree in Geophysics from the University of Texas, where her thesis work improved the accuracy of hypocenter locations for induced seismicity in Texas. Before joining AOOS, she worked across environmental consulting, pollution prevention, air quality, and the remediation of formerly used defense sites, building experience in project management, stakeholder engagement, and data management and quality assurance. Her approach centers on building robust, defensible standards for collecting and managing data, and on applying scientific principles through direct engagement with the communities that use them.

Outside of work, Taylor explores the Alaska landscape by bike, foot, and ski.
