Alice Bailey leads communications, outreach, engagement, and education efforts. She works with AOOS staff, board members, researchers, and partners to translate ocean science into accessible stories and resources for a variety of audiences. Alice manages the AOOS website, social media, newsletters, and outreach materials, coordinates AOOS participation in conferences, events, and community engagement activities throughout Alaska, and oversees education initiatives, including youth programs and ANSEP internships.

A trained artist and photographer, Alice brings a creative approach to science communication. She also manages AOOS projects in the Yukon-Kuskokwim Delta, where she previously worked as a visual artist and fisheries technician. Before joining AOOS, she served as the R/V Sikuliaq Science Liaison and Public Information Officer for the College of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences at the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Prior to that, she taught photography and visual art at the University of Virginia, Colorado Mountain College, and the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
